La CEYE es "el servicio responsable de abastecer a todos los servicios de la institución, del material y equipo necesarios para las actividades enlos campos médico y quirúrgico.
SUS OBJETIVOS
* Asegurar continua y oportunamente, la distribución o entrega del material
y equipo que los servicios demanden de acuerdo a sus necesidades.
* Proporcionar al material y equipo, el procesamiento de esterilización dependiendo de su
naturaleza.
La zona geográfica dependerá de la capacidad de la institución, sin pasar por alto una buenaventilación, humedad, temperatura e iluminación, teniendo la precaución de estar alejada de contaminantes del ambiente intra y extra hospitalario.
La CEYE debe ubicarse en un área de fácil comunicación para todos los departamentos que soliciten sus servicios.
La distribución de áreas será de preferencia en forma de "U" para respetar el ciclo "Sucio, limpio, estéril".
