“ENGLISH 1”

PRESENTATION
By the time the school year is over students will have developed several competences, which will show evidence on what they are to achieve according tothe 2011Education Program for English subject in secondary school.
Students must develop as much as they can the competences that will be mentioned next: they will be able to give and receive information for performing a community service; they must be able to exchange opinions regarding the contents of radio program, and to exchange likes and dislikes in a dialogue as well.
The new EnglishProgram for this level emphasizes a lot on students’ reading comprehension; so students will have to develop the ability to carry out plenty of activities aimed at understanding everything they read related to understanding and expressing specific warnings of public places. Furthermore, students must understand classic tales as they read them.
The ludic field will turn out to be quite usefulto help students broaden their learning; so as a teacher I will have to provide them with some chances to engage in language games to recognize and comprehend future tense in forecasts.
In the literary aspect students will have a chance to work with music, which is considered to be highly useful to identify human values in English speaking countries and Mexico through reading and singingsongs.
On writing, students must focus on learning to write texts and short stories based on them. Students must also be able to write instructions to use a bilingual dictionary, write notes to describe the components of different human body systems in charts; and rewrite information to explain a graphic exhibition.
