“Scientific Research”

Summary:

One of the characteristics of organizational Psychology is the extensive use of research and statistics. Although thereare many reasons for this reliance on research, the most important is that research ultimately saves organization money. This monetary savings can result from many factors, including increasesemployee satisfaction, increased productivity and fewer accidents. Research benefits the protocol that companies used to applied when they wanted to hired their employees thank to research they could seethat the employment interview was not efficient any more. Research is the tool that give us the basis to expand our knowledge. Understanding research helps you to listen critically and analyze resultsof these studies to make more intelligent decisions. Systematic steps never fail when questioning comes to our door. The first step in conducting research is to decide what to research, askingourselves questions. Once the question has been asked, the next step is to form a hypothesis, a prediction based on a theory which will conduct to a study. If the result support the hypothesis, it becomesimportant to test the theory. In Psychology it might be a little bit different, since the result can be different, but for different reasons not for mistaken actions. Thus even trough a study mightsupport a hypothesis, it is still important to determine why the hypothesis is true.

Critique:

I think that research is very important to create science. In a major like Psychology, in my opinion thecontext it is very different, I can say that the context becomes subjective. And why is this?. Because when we talk about the study of the behavior of human race in different aspects we are referringto a deep world of secrets, diversity and more. So I prefer to use qualitative methods the ones are more based on observation and the subjective factor of individuals.
