“Secuestro Express” is a 2005 Venezuelan Crime film directed Jonathan Jakubowicz and starring Mía maestro, Jean Paul Leroux and Rubén Blades. The movie premiere was in New Yorkin August 2005 then in Venezuela and others countries later that year.
This story is real, relates us to a real drama in Venezuela every day. It´s a method of abduction used in some countries, mainlyfrom Latin America, where a small ransom, that a company or family can easily pay, is requested. The victims are chosen at random. This film was censured by the government without success.
The actstake place in the capital (Caracas) during 48 hours. Three kidnappers observe carefully outside a discotheque, they are choosing their victim. His names are Budu (Pedro Pérez), Niga (Carlos Madera)and Trece (Carlos Molina) .This actors are singers in your real life his band is called “Three owners” (Los Tres Dueños). The main characters are violent, harsh, ambitious, impolite, insensitive,dishonest, frustrated, poor and underprivileged persons. They are victims and killers created by his own society. Nevertheless in another face of the currency are Carla (Mía Maestro) and Martin (Jean PaulLeroux). They are young, rich, posh (upper-class) and drug addicts. Carla and Martin have to survive the dramatic hours. The story makes the news every day. They will live a terrifying journey.Caracas 5 am. Twenty thousand dollars, a small amount for a rich Caraqueño but a common Venezuelan is equivalent ofeight years of the minimum wage.
