What is an urban ecosystem?
From: the components of an urban ecosystem to the relationship of these components.

An urban eco system, based in the definition that “An ecosystem is a biologicalenvironment consisting of all the organisms living in a particular area, as well as all the nonliving, physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact, such as air, soil,water, and sunlight” added the components of urban area, as buildings, massive transportation, water and electric lines, migratory population, pollution, amongst others, can be defined as an UrbanEcosystem.

“An Urban Ecosystem is the merge of the natural and man-made components in a defined area, with the integration of the cities to the nature, the impact of each one of the surrounding elementsas living organisms, weather, buildings, pollution, nature, etc. This fusion of elements and factors as migration, climate change, economy impact expands the range of the definition to a point wherethe investigation and understanding of this particular subject doesn’t only analyze the material elements but the psychological too.”

This type of ecosystems have become more important the lastdecade based in the migration of a big percentage of the population from rural areas to big cities all over the globe, that have caused the necessity to adapt the pre-established system ofdevelopment of the cities, with the integration of new necessities as, green zones for control of the air pollution, massive investment in water treatment to reduce the impact in the water supply.
