INFORMATION ON THE PROCESS FLOW EXPERIMENT
In the process flow experiment, you and your team have to set up a production process for high-speed modems. Please read all 3 case studies that areavailable on the course website The experiment consist of three phases: 1. Before December 10, your team has to design the process it plans to use in the experiment. The team must prepare a value stream mapof the process, fill in the critical design considerations sheet (see exhibit 5, case study I), and hand-in the documents before December 10. The preparation phase contributes 30 % to the grade ofthe group 2. On December 10, your team has to demonstrate the process by simulating the production process and manufacturing the modems. The performance of the process (the number of non-defect modemsproduced) determines 40 % of the grade of your group 3. After December 10, your team has to evaluate what could be improved with your process. Prepare 3 slides (1. current state used in experiment, 2.weaknesses identified, 3. future state) for a 10-minute presentation with the future state of your post-evaluation and bring the slides (as .ppt file) to the lecture on December 13. Be ready for apresentation in class. The post-evaluation and the presentation contributes 30 % to the grade of the group The grade of your group counts 5 % towards your final grade of SCM & MS I
