QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TEACHING OBSERVATION

WHAT QUESTIONS DO YOU WANT TO ASK THE TEACHER?

How successful is to maintain the use of English during the class in a kid beginners level with his firstsecond language experience? I would like to ask this question because it is hard to give clear and simple directions or commands when the learners have not gone through a second language learningprocess before in order to avoid boredom, misbehavior and tension in learners’ attitudes.

What part of the lesson would you like to change according to the children’s response? This question is veryimportant to me because the auto evaluation of the teacher is the key in the learning process in order to succeed in the lesson planning, applied activities and in the acquisition of children’s newknowledge.

Do you consider that your expectations for the lesson were successfully achieved? Why? I notice that the achievement of settled objectives for each lesson depends immediately of students’response because it is the feed-back for each chosen activity. As a result, you can evaluate by observing if the activities are according to the age, interest and level of the learners.

How you cankeep busy those children that already finished while the others are still working? This is a common situation that tends to produce talking time between their classmates and misbehave when thechildren that already finished the given activity always distract the others that are still working, and the lesson sometimes seems to be spoiled by these types of children.

At what level of the learningprocess would translation be useful as teaching tool? I consider that translation is a big problem in a second language acquisition context because we are used to use it at the first lessons but lateron, we do not know how to keep it apart in the next lessons because it becomes into a habitude to the teacher in order to save time to give explanations.
